Omani firm awarded $131m in contracts

Al Hassan Engineering to provide EPC services to Zauliyah Gas Plant as part of a joint venture

Omani construction firm Al Hassan Engineering Company has said it has been awarded a contract by Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production (OOCEP) for the construction of export pipelines at ‘Block 60’ near Ibri.

The contract is worth an estimated $24.7m, and completion is set within a duration of around of eight months from September 11.

The firm also said its joint-venture with Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas has been commissioned by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to provide services for the Zauliyah Gas Plant.

Under the terms of the three-year, $106.3m deal, Al Hassan Engineering Company & Tecnicas Reunidas is to provide engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services, as well as associated off-plot works for the Modular-based Gas Plant (on-plot).

Al Hassan Engineering and Tecnicas Reunidas had bid for the contract with their respective shares of 70% and 30% of the total contract value.
