Hole in one sponsorship for Metsec at the Big Project ME Consultants Cup and Contractors Cup 2018
voestalpine Metsec Middle East looks forward to deciding contractors/consultants event in December
voestalpine Metsec Middle East has hailed the performances of the players at the Big Project ME Consultants Cup and Contractors Cup 2018 which it sponsored at Dubai’s world famous Montgomery Golf Club last month.
Supporting the two-day event on the 26 and 28 March for the second year running, Metsec Middle East sponsored the ‘Nearest to the Pin’ competition on both days, where players attempt to get their ball as close to the pin as possible with just one shot.
The established Big Project ME Consultant Cup 2018 is in its third year and is specifically for consultants, contractors and sub-contractors in the UAE construction industry, giving them an opportunity to network in a relaxed environment. The limited spaces at the popular event were awarded to senior contractors and consultants within the sector and included lunch, an 18-hole round of golf, an evening dinner and complementary apparel.
Whilst play on the 26 March was exclusively for contractors and the 28 March solely for consultants, on the 11 December 2018 there will be the deciding 18-hole round where contractors and consultants will compete for the ultimate title, which Metsec Middle East will also be sponsoring.
Rob Marsh, commercial manager at Metsec Middle East, said: “We were delighted to sponsor such an important, well organised event that allowed us the opportunity to mix with key partners and some of the biggest names in the construction industry.
“This is the second year that we have sponsored both golf events and follows our sponsorship of the ME Contractor and Consultant Awards in November last year. Having had a Middle East office in Dubai since 2016, it is vital for us to network with leading industry professionals to strengthen relationships.
“Whilst it was great to see a few familiar faces, we were also excited to meet new players who added a fresh level of competition to the cup, which both myself and Steven Ginger, managing director of the Purlin and Framing divisions at Metsec, took part in. Well done to contractor Craig Laidlaw and consultant David Daniels who won our sponsored ‘Nearest to the Pin’ competition. We look forward to a rematch next year!”
