Bahrain to build Smurfs park
Investors granted approval to build $5.33m ‘edutainment’ theme park in West Riffa
A group of investors have received the initial approval by Bahrain’s Central Municipal Council to build a $5.33m theme park in the Kingdom.
The 8,350 m2 edutainment project is geared towards children aged four to 12 and will offer an array of activities, with special rewards for youngsters who complete different tasks.
Mushroom Villaggio, named after the Smurfs’ mushroom-style houses, will be built in West Riffa at the Prince Khalifa bin Salman Grand Garden. It will be based around the popular children’s cartoon and feature 30 Smurf houses, each measuring 50m2 and able to accommodate up to 20 children at a time.
The village will also have a 250m2 house belonging to Papa Smurf and a 220m2 castle for the Smurf’s arch-enemy Gargamel.
