Seef Properties has appointed Kuwaiti Manager Holding Company (KMC Holding) as the main contractor for its $133m Liwan mixed-use project. Located in the Hamala area of Bahrain, Liwan was designed by international design consultant CallisonRTKL.

The project is spread over 122,000sqm and, once complete, will boast retail outlets, restaurants, cafes as well as residential units, a supermarket, cinema, family entertainment centre and open-air spaces. Liwan was designed to meet market needs with its various residential and commercial facilities.

“We are confident that the project will add value to Bahrain’s real estate sector, further attracting foreign investments and contributing to the growth of the economy,” said Ahmed Yusuf, CEO of Seef Properties.

The project is scheduled for completion by Q4, 2019 and is expected to elevate Bahrain’s real estate sector. Liwan is part of Seef Properties’ strategy to expand its asset portfolio, which will positively reflect on the kingdom’s economy, remarked Yusuf.

Seef Properties’ chairman Essa Najibi added, “Awarding of this significant contract comes as a result of an extensive screening process and we are confident that the project will be completed according to the schedule. The real estate sector in Bahrain is witnessing a steady growth and this is expected to continue in the coming years.”

KMC Holding was established in 1996 and is a fully-owned subsidiary of Kuwaiti Finance House.
