InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced plans to expand its portfolio in the GCC region with the opening of a new hotel in the UAE emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
The hospitality giant signed an agreement with Kuwaiti-owned Almadina Real Estate Development to open the 442-room Crowne Plaza Resort Ras Al Khaimah, currently under development,on the man-made 2.7mm2 Marjan Island development.
The seafront resort will span more than 18,000 m2 and feature nine food and beverage outlets including an all-day dining restaurant with show kitchen, an alfresco dining terrace, a cigar lounge, two coffee shops, a pool bar, and traditional bar and nightclub.
The hotel will also offer six meeting rooms, fitness facilities will include a spa, fitness centre and beauty salon, as well as nursery and indoor souk.
The resort will become the second IHG managed hotel in the emirate when it opens in 2015.
