Minister: Kuwait International Airport expansion progressing smoothly
Ministry of Public Works working with Limak to complete project on time
The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) has reported that construction of the new terminal at Kuwait International Airport is progressing smoothly according to Kuwait’s minister of Public Works Hussam Al-Roumi.
Speaking at a press conference during a tour of the project he stated that his inspection of the “architectural masterpiece” was intended to “see how far the construction process has come.”
He added that Kuwait’s ruler His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah had emphasised the need to complete the project in a timely manner. KUNA also reported that he revelaed the Ministry of Public Works was in constant contact with the terminal’s contractors Limak Holding. “in an effort to expedite the completion of the project”.
Al-Roumi said tenders for a new airport apron and parking lots would soon be announced.
Once completed, the new terminal will feature 51 gates and be able to accommodate up to 26 million passengers a year, KUNA reported.
