Aldar awards $354m main contract for Water’s Edge project

Residential project features 13 apartment buildings and 2,255 homes

According to a statement from Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Properties, Trojan General Contracting has been appointed as the main contractor for the Water’s Edge waterfront project.

The award of the $354m main contract follows the award of the early works package to the Dutch Foundation. The developer notes that onsite work for the earlier package began in February of this year.

Located on Yas Island’s eastern shores, the project comprises studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Aldar originally announced the Water’s Edge development in Q3 of 2017.

Aldar notes that the project, which comprises of 13 apartment building and some 2,255 homes, will offer owners an outdoor lifestyle with pedestrian access to all amenities including a waterfront promenade with multiple dining and retail options.

The project also boasts private courtyards with landscaped areas, pools, multipurpose courts and a mosque. The developer notes that residents will be able to benefit from Yas Island’s many attractions, including the Yas Mall, Ferrari World and Yas Marina Circuit, all of which are said to be a five-minute walk from the Water’s Edge.
