Pinsent Masons promotes Luke Tapp to partner

Law firm Pinsent Masons says it has further enhanced its employment capabilities with the promotion of Luke Tapp to Partner, effective from 1 May 2018.

As head of the Pinsent Masons Middle East Employment Practice, Tapp advises clients in the region on all aspects of employment issues, such as assisting in the transfer of employees, reviewing contracts of employment and handbooks, and advising on the placement of employees and consultants in Middle East and African jurisdictions, explained the firm. Tapp also assists clients with restructures, and exit strategies. He has managed a wide variety of free zone and onshore GCC labour litigation matters, covering all types of employment law claims.

Tapp has worked as an employment lawyer in the Middle East since 2012 and has a deep understanding of the labour markets in the region.

“This is an exciting chapter for Pinsent Masons Middle East as we welcome a new partner to our team of driven and committed lawyers. As a key player in the region’s legal landscape, Pinsent Masons has developed a strong client base and continually attracts best-in-class talent,” commented Sachin Kerur, head of Middle East region, Pinsent Masons. “I am confident that with Luke’s experience, we will continue to grow our employment service line.”

Luke’s promotion is a part of Pinsent Masons’ global 2018 promotions of 23 lawyers. Commenting on the global promotions, Richard Foley, Senior Partner at Pinsent Masons, said, “This is our largest promotions round in three years and demonstrates that we are a growing and increasingly global business.”
