First contractor Bright Accord and F+G begin Al Fahid Island Development

Following its appointment in Q4, 2017, Faithful+Gould (F+G) has issued a statement announcing that it will provide cost management services at the design, tender and construction stages of the Al Fahid Island waterfront project. The firm also announced that Bright Accord General Contracting has been awarded the nine-month reclamation package and says that work has begun on the site.

F+G says it played a key part in the project reaching its first milestone, noting that its cost management services cover the reclamation, marine works, site wide infrastructure and landscaping, residential and leisure components. The master-planned project will be delivered in five phases, with phase one having a plot area of circa 21,000,000sqm.

“We played a key role awarding the first construction contract for this breath-taking development and are excited start to see the development take its formative shape. The client has master-planned a truly exceptional luxury development that will transform the E12 landscape over the coming years and be unrivalled in terms of both the communities quality of design and lifestyle offered,” said Steven Batchelor, regional director for commercial services in SNC Lavalin’s Faithful+Gould business.

Once complete, Al Fahid Island will play host to several residential offerings including beach front villas, luxury townhouses and medium-rise apartment blocks. All the residential units will be built around a marina and will offer access to a beach club, retail and F&B outlets, schools, community facilities and landscaped community parks.

The project will feature 301 four-to-seven bedroom villas, 652 one-to-four bedroom apartments as well as 15 three-bedroom townhouses in a waterfront and park settings, with access to the aforementioned amenities.
