MAG and Emaar to develop automated parking facility in Dubai Marina
Facility will occupy the ground and first floor of mixed-use building
MAG Robotic Investments (MAGRI) has signed a contract with Emaar Properties, which will see the construction of an automated parking facility at the Dubai Marina. MAGRI has assigned MAG Royal Solutions (MRS) to manage the build-operate-transfer project.
MRS specialises in smart automated parking solutions and is part of the MAG Group. The firm notes that the Marina parking facility will be the third largest that it has developed and says that, once complete, the facility will accommodate approximately 700 cars.
The automated parking facility will be located on the ground and first floor of an as yet unnamed building, which will also host ‘state of the art restaurants and retail outlets’. The building is said to have been designed to complement the architecture found in the Dubai Marina.
According to MRS, effective and smart parking solutions are integral to the efficiency and liveability of cities. The firm states that the automated parking facility will eliminate the need to walk or drive around parking decks in search of a vacant space or parked car, which will result in reduced foot traffic and vehicle emissions.
The building is said to be fully compliant with green building requirements.
