Qatar’s swimming pools market is expected to reach $600 million by 2017, driven by the construction of luxury lifestyle and social infrastructure projects ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
Speaking about the sector’s trends, CEO of Belhasa Projects, Greg Garner, commented that demand is specifically for high end swimming pool and spa facilities, saying Qatar will become a “phenomenon” for the sector.
“There is a massive focus on well-being and lifestyle in the region which has created a demand for high end swimming pool and spa facilities. Qatar itself has become a phenomenon for the sector.
“In Qatar, we see demand for our swimming pool services from schools, government, residential and hospitality sectors and the Potential Industry Earnings (PIE) in the swimming pool industry is ever on the rise in Qatar,” he added.
Now more than 30 years old, Belhasa Projects has constructed over 3,400 swimming pools for residential buildings, schools, palaces and five star hotels in other GCC countries and in East Europe.
The company also designs aquariums, luxury spas and equestrian pools, in addition to water features, soft and hard landscaping, and offers specialist design services.
