Lootah appoints Gensler for housing project in Dubai South

107 sqm scheme projected to house up to 35,000 residents by 2020

Lootah Real Estate Development has appointed Gensler as the masterplan designer for a residential project it is developing in Dubai South’s Residential District. As per the agreement, Gensler’s responsibilities include the vision, strategic planning, urban design frameworks and design guidelines for the project, in line with Lootah’s commitment to deliver the highest standards of living in world-class communities.

The as yet unnamed project will include 10,000 residential units split between villas, townhouses and apartments, which will house an estimated 35,000 residents.

“We look forward to envisioning the project and witnessing its transformation into a reality. We believe that Gensler is the ideal partner to join forces with, to achieve the highest levels of quality and innovation that our customers are accustomed to,” said Saleh Abdullah Lootah, executive director at Lootah Real Estate Development.

According to the developer, the project is expected to be delivered by 2020 and will be located close to the Expo 2020 venue, Al Maktoum Airport and the Dubai South free zones and Business Parks. Residents will have access to schools, nurseries, hospitals, retail outlets, F&B options, a post office, swimming academy and a sports centre.

“Translating the brand USP within the upcoming project, Lootah Real Estate plans to deliver innovation and contemporary design without missing on affordability,” Lootah added.
