Consulting and expert advisory services firm HKA has announced that Husam Gawish is now head of Regional Business Development for the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
As part of his new role, Gawish will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities and expanding HKA’s reach in the MEA region. He will also be tasked with managing key client relationships and further developing relationships with new and existing clients. Additionally, he will be responsible for identifying new opportunities in emerging markets.
“I very much look forward to expanding HKA’s business in the Middle East and Africa, working closely with our key clients and developing new relationships in key market segments,” said Husam Gawish, partner, Regional Business Development at HKA.
Gawish has over 20 years of management, engineering and business development experience in the construction industry, notably in buildings and infrastructure. He joined HKA in 2014 having spent more than 17 years with international project consultants, High-Point Rendel.
Meanwhile Tom Kapapa has joined the firm as operations director to lead HKA’s business in Qatar. As operations director, Tom Kapapa brings over 20 years of experience in civil and building engineering projects in the United Kingdom, Middle East, Africa and Asia across a wide range of sectors to HKA. According to HKA, Kapapa has ‘vast knowledge of all types of construction contracts and advises employers and contractors on commercial and procurement issues, claims avoidance and claims management, as well as formal disputes and dispute resolution’.

HKA says that Kapapa is regularly appointed as an expert witness providing expert testimony on matters of quantum and sits as an arbitrator and mediator.
