French lighting manufacturer SWITCH MADE has announced that it has completed fitting new energy-efficient façade lighting at the Dubai Mall. The firm says the project involved the development of a custom solution with the aim of giving the shopping destination a ‘youthful and modern visual identity’.
SWITCH MADE says the retrofitted lighting solutions will allow the mall to decrease its annual energy consumption for façade lighting by 40- to-50%. The firm says its new lighting solutions will also improve the quality of lighting in terms of uniformity, illuminance and color rendering efficiency.

The project involved fitting LED modules, projectors and cove linear lights to meet the mall’s design goal of creating peaceful, aesthetic ambient lighting. Nearly 52,000 LED luminaires were installed according to SWITCH MADE, which helps to create a dynamic façade that spans across 10km.
