Nakheel has issued a statement announcing that its new leisure hub at the Warsan Village community is under construction. The $2.7m leisure hub is the latest addition to the 147 hectare, gated Warsan Village master community.
Scheduled to open in 2019, the recreational club will feature adult and children’s swimming pools, a restaurant, gym, fitness studio, tennis court and visitor parking.
The project is part of the master developer’s $1.3bn hospitality expansion programme for the community and is said to complement the facilities already in operation at Jebel Ali Vilage, Jumeirah Islands, Al Furjan and Masakin Al Furjan communities.
The Warsan Village Club joins the already under construction $326m Warsan Souk, a retail and dining destination featuring 1,170 shops, restaurants and cafes. Warsan Souk is scheduled to open in 2019 and is said to be fully leased.
Nakheel delivered the 934 villas that comprise the Warsan Village in 2016. The developer says that over 800 villas have already been handed over to investors, with the remaining units awaiting occupation by buyers. Warsan Village is located close to Dragon City, which contains Dragon Mart and the recently opened Dragon Mart 2.
