Kone wins Business Bay hotel apartments contract
Elevator and escalator specialist Kone Corporation has announced that it has won a contract to supply 23 elevators for the WOW Hotel and Hotel Apartments in Dubai. The 323m tower consists of 76 floors and is located in Dubai’s Business Bay area.
Under the terms of the contract, Kone will supply 16 MiniSpace elevators, as well as seven MonoSpace models. The project was designed by Aedas Archtiects for developer WOW Investment and is expected to be completed by 2020.
“The supply of hotel rooms and hotel apartments in Dubai is expected to reach 134,000 by the end of 2018. We’re excited to be part of the city’s growing hospitality sector and look forward to providing premium travel experience with our equipment to the people visiting and working at the development,” said Pierre Liautaud, executive vice president for Kone South Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Kone will also deliver two loading bay area elevators and three disabled access platform elevators for use on the project.
