SEHA amends hospital project’s prequalification requirements
Minimum requirement has been lowered to building a hospital project worth $272.2m in the past 10 years
The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), which is responsible for managing government owned healthcare facilities in the emirate, is set to ask construction firms to prequalify for the contract to build Sheikh Khalifa Medical City,after changing one of the minimum pre-qualification requirements.
A report by MEED said the minimum requirement was previously set for bidders to have completed a $544m hospital project in the past 10 years, which SEHA now lowered to $272.2m.
The planned hospital has been designed to cover a total area of 278,709 m2and will comprise general hospital facilities with a trauma centre, and women’s and paediatric centres, with a total of 838 beds.
The central area will have restaurants, retail and education spaces. Construction work is scheduled to commence in 2013.
