Opus ready for grand opening in Dubai this month, says Omniyat

Omniyat Properties has announced The Opus will open on January 15. The mixed-use development was designed by the late-Dame Zaha Hadid and boasts 5,202sqm of office space, a club, several restaurants and a hotel.

The building comprises two glass towers that merge into a 90m high cube with a free-flowing curved central void. Omniyat describes the void at the heart of the building is an “architectural wonder” boasting the highest level of engineering.

The Opus plays host to the ME Dubai hotel, which boasts 93 rooms and suites, as well as 98 serviced apartments on the upper floors including four penthouses with private roof terraces. The hotel will be operated by Spanish hotelier group Melia Hotels International. According to Omniyat, the hotel’s lobby lounge and art gallery, vertical café and reception area will feature furniture that was either custom-designed or hand-selected by Hadid.

The building’s residences are said to feature futuristic/stylish interiors with a ‘home-away-from-home sensibility’. The developer claims each apartment represents the pinnacle of design feeling and notes that every resident will be able to benefit from the building’s various services, including the ME Hotel’s ‘lifestyle concierge’, which delivers à la carte or pre-selected services to resident’s personal space.

A 260,000sqft entertainment zone and nightclub, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa and a rooftop terrace with views of Dubai are also part of the building’s offering to residents.
