KSA awards $164m deals to upgrade four ports

Contracts worth a total of $164m have been awarded by the Saudi Ports Authority (SPA) to upgrade four ports in different parts of the Kingdom, as part of a government plan to improve the performance of Saudi ports.

The SPA awarded a local contractor a $51.26m deal for the installation of an electricity power station at the Dammam port to increase the power generation capacity from 50MW to 120MW to meet the facility’s development requirements, the SPA said.

Four more contracts were awarded for the construction of new wharfs in Tabuk’s Dhubaport,Yanbu port, and King Fahd port at a total cost of $112.74m.
