At the moment, nearly 2,000 equipment items and trucks have already been added on the auction, varying from hydraulic excavators, dump trucks, cranes and wheeled loaders, to generator sets, cars and attachments. Thinking of joining the auction? Here’s 3 tips to get the most out of it!
Auction tip #1: Inspect items up front
There’s a few ways to prepare for an upcoming auction. Go through the inventory online and perform a virtual inspection. On the Ritchie Bros. website, each item has descriptions and many photos. Attend the auction viewing days prior to the auction. Bring a mechanic or friend with you to run the inspection if needed. For each of the items you’re interested in write down the maximum price you’re willing to bid. Stick to your maximum. The inventory of the upcoming Dubai auction can be found here.
Auction tip #2: Past selling prices
You found what you’re looking for and you’re trying to determine how much you should spend. A powerful tool to help you with this is the Auction Results section on the Ritchie Bros. website. With a free webaccount anyone can look up past auction results at rbauction.com. You can view auction results up to 24 months.
