New Bobcat telehandler targets construction sector
Compact and manoeuvrable TL30.70 comes with advanced features, high lift capacity and long reach
Compact equipment firm Bobcat has launched a new telehandler designed for a wide range of applications in the construction and rental sectors.
The company said that its new TL30.70 compact telehandler provides maximum lift capacity of 3t and maximum lift height of nearly 7m and has been designed as a cost-effective alternative to larger 7m models, especially where working spaces are tight and increased manoeuvrability is required.
The TL30.70 offers a maximum reach of 4m with a load of more than 1t, which is among the leading figures in its class, according to Bobcat. At its maximum lift height, the telehandler can lift up to 2t of weight, which is sufficient to place a pallet of heavy bricks in most conditions, said the manufacturer’s statement.
The TL30.70 has a heavy-duty hydrostatic transmission that allows smooth and precise low speed travel, with the ability to immediately go faster or work harder when required. Bobcat’s auto-shift transmission automatically adapts the motor torque and speed to the desired level for the job, giving operators the benefit of not having to take their hands off the joystick to change gear, the statement added.
The transmission is also equipped with an inching function that allows the operator to be even more precise in low speed applications without having to use the brakes, reducing fatigue and increasing safety.
The TL30.70 has a box-welded frame for enhanced rigidity with a shielded bottom plate protecting vital components. High-tensile steel, U-welded shapes, an integrated boom head, new generation wear pads, large bolts and large steel inserts for increased friction coefficients all contribute to maximising reliability even in severe conditions and reducing total cost of ownership, said Bobcat.
Among its advanced features are a standard all-in-one ergonomic joystick controlling all boom functions and travel direction; an automatic parking brake for enhanced safety and operator convenience; a Boom Cushion Retract feature that automatically slows down the boom speed when the boom is nearly fully retracted or at min/max angles; an optional Automatic Fan inverter, whereby a cycle time can be set for cleaning radiators and the air intake grill; and an optional air suspension seat, including longitudinal and low frequency suspensions, with many adjustments to allow operators to find their most comfortable drive position.
The new TL30.70 is part of the Bobcat range of 12 telehandler models aimed at applications in construction and rental, covering maximum lifting capacities of 2.6-4.1t with lifting heights of 6-18 m. For a lesser regulated market such as the Middle East, Bobcat telehandlers are powered by Perkins 1104D-44TA Stage IIIA/Tier 3 mechanical injection diesel engines, delivering 100hp, said the company, adding that all models in its range are covered by a three-year/3,000-hour warranty as standard with the option of extending it to five years/5,000 hours.
