Emaar to build grand mosque in Downtown Dubai
Developer to design mosque as a modern day cultural landmark for Dubai
Dubai’s Emaar Properties has announced plans to build a 1393 m2 grand mosque in the Downtown Dubai area, it was announced on Sunday.
The Sheikh Zayed Bin Mansour Al Nahyan Mosque will be constructed on a total area of 3716 m2 near The Old Town development.
The design of the mosque will reflect the rich traditional architectural heritage, while serving as a haven of peace and serenity and is set to become a modern day cultural landmark for Dubai, said Ahmad Al Matrooshi, managing director of Emaar Properties.
It will serve the Downtown Dubai residential community, as well as visitors from all over the region who visit the destination, the developer said.
Emaar’s mega-development includes The Dubai Mall, Souk Al Bahar, The Dubai Fountain and several homes and offices.
