Etihad Rail, ADVETI unveil UAE’s first rail diploma
10 UAE Nationals to receive vocational training in collaboration with Deutsche Bahn
The UAE’s first rail diploma has been launched by Etihad Rail DB and the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education & Training Institute (ADVETI). The announces follows on from a MoU that was signed in 2016 by Etihad Rail, Etihad Raid DB and ADVETI.
The partnership aims to create opportunities for Emiratis in the UAE’s rail industry in support of Vision 2021. Participants will be able to specialise in one of four professions; train captain, train controller, rolling stock technician and systems technician.
The programme began on August 20th with a rail induction week in Munich, which was designed to prepare Emirati students for careers in the rail industry. Senior Etihad Rail DB and ADVETI officials led the trip, which included learning and networking sessions. The group also visited different DB railway facilities along with a simulation training facility and an operations control centre.

The roll out of the Rail Diploma falls in line with our mandate to help realising UAE Vision 2021, facilitating a national transition into a globally competitive and knowledge-based economy. We look forward to providing unique opportunities in occupational training for student’s eager to pursue careers in the UAE’s rail industry.
