DAF trucks partners with Al Naboodah to enter UAE market

Al Naboodah Group Enterprises (ANGE) and DAF Trucks have announced a partnership to bring the latest models of DAF trucks into the UAE.

The family-owned UAE business conglomerate and the European truck major based in The Netherlands said at the launch event in Dubai that, under the partnership, ANGE will represent the European-manufactured premium commercial truck brand in the UAE and provide widespread after-sales services.

The new product range includes light, medium and heavy-duty trucks that cater to a wide variety of segments and applications. DAF claims its trucks are highly reliable, environmentally friendly, fuel efficient and durable vehicles – resulting in a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), smooth on-road travel and optimum comfort for the driver.

Buti Al Naboodah, deputy CEO, Commercial for ANGE, said: “Al Naboodah Group Enterprises is committed to diversifying our business to provide innovative solutions to our consumers that help support the economy and lead society towards a sustainable future. Our new partnership with DAF represents a new milestone and a new business stream for the Group and is considered a landmark step to reinforce trust and reliability to our commercial vehicle industry stakeholders.”

As a demonstration of confidence in the brand, ANGE has incorporated 60 DAF trucks into its own fleet across a range of applications, the company said. Due to their superior level of performance, ANGE has also supplied 520 VDL Buses powered by DAF Engines to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority.

Michiel Kuijs, director of Sales Operations for DAF, said: “As a premium brand, DAF wanted to be sure that we had a well-respected and very professional partner that represents our values. We looked for a partner who shares our ambitions. In terms of quality, after sales, services and customer satisfaction. We found the right partner for the future in Al Naboodah Group Enterprises with a proven track record just like DAF.”

Ajit Kumar, COO, Commercial, Transport and Electrical for ANGE said: “The collaboration with DAF is the culmination of Al Naboodah Group Enterprises’ investment in providing locally-based, world-class trucks with tailor-made solutions to meet the local market demands and requirements. In partnership with DAF, we’ll be able to provide truck customers in the UAE with best-in-class quality and after-sales service.”

According to DAF, the development process of its trucks takes place in a high-tech environment with advanced 3D and CAD CAM-computer programs and state-of-the-art development facilities. Engines are put under the most extreme conditions, at temperatures from -20˚ to +50˚ Celsius to test their efficiency.
