UAE earmarks $73.8m for road projects
Internal and external road projects across the country set to be developed and built
The committee tasked with following up on the orders of the UAE President, HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has approved the allocation of $73.8m for a number of internal and external road projects across the country.
The projects include the Al Yabsa bypass road project, in which a 14-km ring road will be constructed at a cost of $53.4m.
The second phase of the project will link Sheikh Khalifa Road, previously called the Dubai-Fujairah highway, and Al Hail industrial area with Fujairah Port, and will be completed in the second half of 2014.
The committee also approved the development and construction of various internal roads in Fujairah and Dibba at a cost estimated at $17.4m, as well as the construction of roads in the new Suweihat residential area in Umm Al Quwain, an area allocated for houses for Emiratis.
