Saudi authorities has set the submission date for the five main construction contracts on the Riyadh metro project, estimated to cost between $7bn and $8bn.
Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) has given contractors until December 1 to submit their bids for the project’s five main construction contracts. Lines 1 and 2 have been combined as one package, while the other lines set as single packages, according to a report by MEED.
The total length of the lines will be 180km, ADA said. Although the client has pre-qualified four consortium to bid for the whole metro project, the construction packages will be split into different packages.
ADA is expected to short-list pre-qualified firms to bid for the package to design and build lines 1 and 2 and/or 3, and will invite the pre-qualified firms to tender lines 4,5 and 6 at a later date.
