Ramboll posts highest ever revenue figures in H1 for 2012
Middle East contribution boosted by strong performances from Transport and Environment markets
Ramboll, the Danish engineering, design and consultancy firm, announced on Friday that its revenue had grown by 11% to $655,461,300 during the first six months of 2012, while operating profit before goodwill amortisation was $38,823,477, which was 63% higher than the same period last year.
Having achieved its highest ever revenue figures for the six months of 2012, the consultancy said, having registered $588,906,768 during the same period in 2011. It added that 10% of this growth was organic, mainly from its Global Practices Oil & Gas and Energy.
Furthermore, its country business units in the Nordics and the Middle East also contributed thanks to significantly advanced revenues compared to 2011.
“We are performing as planned and delivering higher profitability than last year. In a highly competitive global market situation, we have strengthened our international delivery model and are leveraging our expertise globally in order to win landmark projects,” said Jens-Peter Saul, Ramboll CEO.
The company’s Middle Eastern performance was underpinned by its increased presence in the major regional markets of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE. The region’s contribution from its Transport and Environment markets also significantly strengthened its contribution to Ramboll’s performance.
The country business units in the Nordics, Middle East and the Global Practices Oil & Gas, Energy and Management Consulting all achieved a higher EBITA than last year. In comparison, the business unit in the UK had a lower performance than in H1 2011.
In terms of upcoming projects, for the UAE, Ramboll has been awarded the contract to develop the Master Plan for the Emirate of Fujairah for the next 30 years, a project which is expected to significantly contribute to its future success.
