Sharjah to build 6,500 houses, harbour and marina
Construction plans announced as work continues on three major projects in eastern region
A proposal for the construction of a residential zone and a package of services projects has been approved by the Ruler of Sharjah, HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.
The housing project includes 6500 residential houses, while the services projects including a fishing harbour and a yacht marina off Al Heera. Sheikh Sultan also said he’s approved the entrances to the Al Rahmaniyah suburb.
“We have finished the planning of the new street that leads to the borders of Ajman and will be connected to the by-pass road. The first phase has been completed while the second phase is marking quick progress,” Sheikh Sultan added.
The new projects are part of a series of developments the emirate has announced in 2012.
The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is currently working on three major projects in the Eastern region of the emirate worth more than $250m.
The projects include the $114.35m Chedi Khorfakkan Resort, and the the commercial complex of the Kalba eco-tourism project and Al Hisn Island in Dibba Al Hisn, for which the emirate has allocated more than $136m.
