Dubai Properties begins work on Marasi Business Bay marina
First phase of project, with 157 berths, to be completed by September 2017
Dubai Properties (DP) has now officially begun work on the new Marasi Business Bay marina. The real estate master developer and asset manager marked the occasion with the installation of pontoons at the site.
The first phase of the project, which is set for completion in Q3 of 2017, will feature 157 berths ranging from eight metres to 35 metres in size. DP says that the berths will include all the essential features that boat owners require including potable water, power supply, and drainage and sewage in line with international standards.
Marasi Business Bay was launched by Dubai Holding and Dubai Properties Group in May 2016. DP says the $272m project will offer unique water homes with pools and floating restaurants, and is located along the Dubai Water Canal. The project will host the Park, the Pier and the Marina that will eventually comprise 800 berths in total, making it the region’s first purpose-built yachting hub.
“Today marks a significant milestone in the development of Marasi Business Bay, which is testimony to our commitment of creating destinations that provide exceptional lifestyle experiences for residents and visitors alike – reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global tourism destination. The new marina at Marasi Business Bay will leverage latest advances in construction and engineering for its on-schedule completion, offering the city a new active urban lifestyle dimension and waterfront destination,” commented Abdulla Lahej, group CEO of Dubai Properties.
Dubai Properties says that Dubai’s newest marina uses state-of-the-art and environmentally friendly Seaflex technology. The technology is said to provide secure moorings even under the worst weather conditions. The stable and secure self-regulating system is said to elongate and retract in a smooth, even movement according to water levels.
