Aldar awards $462m Yas Acres contract

Trojan General Contracting to deliver 652 residences and other facilities for first three precincts in 32 months

Aldar Properties has awarded Trojan General Contracting a $462m contract for the first three precincts of Yas Acres, its flagship development on Yas Island.
The Abu Dhabi-based property major said in a statement that under the contract, Trojan General Contracting will immediately start work on 652 villas and townhouses, the entire infrastructure, golf course, golf club house, mosque, retail and community clubs in the project, and will deliver them over a period of 32 months across the three precincts launched so far.
This follows the recent completion of the early works package, in which Yas Acres crossed its first construction milestone of 10% completion, Aldar said.
The developer added that it is committed to handing over the first homes in Yas Acres by the end of 2019. The development comprises a total of 1,315 homes, a golf course, schools, retail, and other leisure amenities.
Talal Al Dhiyebi, chief development officer, Aldar Properties, said: “We are pleased to award the main contract for the first three precincts of Yas Acres, our flagship development on Yas Island, as we continue to focus on its timely completion, and delivery to customers. With the mobilisation of the contractors we expect to see highly visible progress as these precincts of villas and townhouses start construction.”
