Restrata, a leading safety and security consultancy and training services provider, has announced the appointment of a new managing director to lead the organisation’s continued growth and international expansion.
In a statement released by the consultancy, it said that Botan Osman officially took over the reins at Restrata in February 2017, having previously been country director for Kurdistan and Northern Iraq. Most recently, he was global director of Business Development. Osman was also the technology advisor to the Prime Minister and head of Information Technology at the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of Iraq.
“We are evolving as an organisation and adapting our response in line with the needs of the sectors and countries in which we operate,” said Chris St George, chairman of Restrata.
“Botan assumes the role of managing director at an exciting time in our development as we embark on a new era in terms of how we consult, design, deliver and manage projects providing solutions across the full spectrum of safety and security risks.
“Having played an important role in shaping Restrata’s international growth and fostering our relationships with key partners around the globe, he not only understands the vital role we play in terms of mitigating safety and security risks to safeguard critical infrastructures, he also brings a wealth of experience in developing and delivering initiatives that meet those needs.”
During his time at the KRG of Iraq, Osman founded the Department of Information Technology (IT) and developed a number of initiatives such as the Regional IT academy, the KRG Biometric Electronic Identification Card System and a cloud-based regional data centre.
As managing director, Botan will be tasked with overseeing Restrata’s growth as it looks to build upon its success to date in terms of delivering safety, security and technology solutions in both new and existing markets across the globe.
“I am pleased to take on the role at this exciting stage in Restrata’s development and I’m honoured to be heading up such a well-respected and influential organisation,” Osman said.
“Keeping technology at the heart of everything we do allows us to deliver fit-for-purpose tools and solutions in line with the best industry standards and practices. I hope to be able to make a valuable contribution to on-going and future initiatives to ensure we remain at the forefront of the safety and security sector worldwide.”
