Global equipment major JCB has received an $11.2m order for 300 units of its newly-launched RS generator sets from Dubai-based Rental Solutions & Services.
The order is the manufacturer’s biggest of the year so far and the first five units have already been delivered. According to reports on the construction and equipment website, khl, they are in service in Oman as stand-by power units for a global oil and gas company, and are being supported by JCB’s dealer Muscat Overseas Group.
Established in 2007, RSS is a global provider of rental power, temporary cooling and mobile water solutions. Its rental generators provide power across the Middle East in construction, infrastructure developments and petrochemical facilities and projects.
“We have a choice of generator suppliers in the Middle East, but we chose JCB Power Products as its range is the best rental selection we have seen. The brand presence of JCB in our region also ensures that our customers know we are working with quality equipment and providing the best possible back-up,” khl quoted RSS operations director, Garry McMahon, as saying.
JCB’s new RS range includes generators ranging from 60kVA to 500kVA in output and feature the company’s LiveLink technology for power telematics system, allowing remote diagnosis of faults and installation issues, besides managing fleet utilisation and service scheduling.
Jonathan Garnham, managing director of JCB Power Products, told khl that his company was “delighted to have won our biggest export order of 2017 from one of the Middle East’s biggest providers of standby power”.
“JCB Power Products launched its RS rental range just a year ago and it is proving extremely successful in a very competitive global market where JCB provides unrivalled service and support,” he added.
