Alfanar commissions two gas turbine units in Hail
Siemens to provide two SGT-6 2000E gas turbines for the Hail 2 Extension III plant
Saudi-based engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm, Alfanar has commissioned ahead of schedule the first two Siemens SGT-6 2000E gas turbine units for the Hail-2 Extension-III power plant in the Kingdom’s north-western Hail region.
Alfanar and Siemens Energy Fossil Power Generation have jointly commissioned the gas turbine units for Saudi Electricity Company (SEC). This follows the successful commissioning of the first two gas turbine units at Hail-2 Extension-II power plant in 12 months last year.
Siemens has provided the plant’s four SGT-6 2000E gas turbines and four generators together with auxiliary equipment, providing a total output capacity of 280 MW.
