Bahrain signs off on site worker safety agreement
Housing ministry signs agreement to examine vocational health and safety standards
Bahrain’s Housing Ministry has signed an agreement to ensure the safety of construction workers, strictly abiding by international safety standards on all projects across the Kingdom.
The agreement was signed along with the National Consultative Centre for Vocational Health and Safety Services, to also examine vocational health and safety standards and work to develop them.
Standards and regulations stated in the agreement will apply to all projects under construction and those completed, ensuring overall safety of site workers from the beginning of the project until its completion.
According to the agreement, high quality building materials are to be used in projects to meet international standards, in order to ensure the safety of the occupants and structure against any future accidents or damage.
A guide will be circulated among engineers, highlighting security and occupational safety regulations, the ministry said.
