Wollongong uni in Dubai plans 20,000sqft extension

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) has announced that it will expand its current campus facilities through the addition of a 20,000sqft expansion.

The dedicated building, which is being constructed close to the current campus, will feature state-of-the-art facilities and modern architectural designs, the university said in a statement released via UAE state news agency WAM.

The expansion represents a substantial investment by UOWD and will consolidate its position as one of the UAE’s leading universities, it added.

A ground-breaking ceremony was held to mark the launch of construction, with executives from the university and TECOM Group attending. Established 24 years ago, the UOWD has established itself as part of Dubai’s academic landscape, offering 35 degree programmes to students from around the world.

“We are excited about the upcoming construction of the university’s new state-of-the-art campus and are pleased to partner with TECOM Group to make it a reality. We endeavour to provide our students with the best facilities possible to enhance their student experience and to increase our international footprint within the UAE,” said Professor Mohamed Salem, president of UOWD.
