Damen adds new dredger to Standard Series

New dredger works at a maximum depth of 18 metres, along coast areas

Dutch dredging equipment specialist, Damen has unveiled the latest addition to the company’s Damen Standard series of cutter suction dredgers.

Fitted with Caterpillar engines, the new CSD650 vessel has a total installed power of 2.969 kW, to ensure all functions can operate simultaneously. The dredger works at maximum depth of 18 metres, using its Damen dredge pump type BP6560MD which has a mixture capacity of 7.000 m³/h.

The hydraulically driven cutter has 600 kW installed, which, when combined with the 62.8-metre swing width provides for an extremely efficient dredging tool, according to Damen.

The new vessel is designed for coastal area operations and equipped as a standard with anchor booms for autonomous operation and a spud carriage installation for optimal efficiency.
