Kier Group, the UK-based contractor, has said that its joint venture with UAE’s Arabian Construction Company (ACC) has won a $187.2 million contract to build a housing project in Dubai.
The project will be part of the Town Square development, a major mixed-use project that is being developed by Nshama.
It is also the second contract awarded to Kier by the developer, following a $62 million win in November 2016. However, the UK contractor is undertaking that contract on its own, rather than as part of a joint venture.
The project will also be funded with the support of UK Export Finance, and will have a total built-up area of 171,224sqm. This will include 1,496 apartments, shops, a swimming pool and a gym.
Kier is also delivering a package of infrastructure works for the Town Square site for Nshama. This $15 million contract was awarded in the summer of 2016.
