Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), in collaboration with Meraas Holding, has inaugurated a new 132/11 kV substation with a total capacity of 150 Megavolt Amperes in the Al Quoz 4 area.

This is part of DEWA’s commitment to its growing portfolio of development projects, particularly in its efforts to install main substations across Dubai, Dubai Media Office reported.

“We strive to enhance infrastructure and utilities in Dubai according to the highest international standards, which in turn will further strengthen the UAE economy and enhance its position,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

“The project aims to increase the capacity and efficiency of electricity and transmission networks at Al Quoz 4. This will further enhance the efficiency and reliability of DEWA’s networks across vital growth areas and ensure continuity and stability of supplies to our customers at all times.

DEWA is set to complete the construction of 100 132/11 KV substations in different phases over the next three years, the report concluded.
