Ras al-Khaimah Ruler lays foundation stone for project, which will include 354 residential units
A ground breaking ceremony has been held for a AED330 million ($90 million) housing project in the UAE’s Ras al-Khaimah, according to state news agency WAM.
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, laid the foundation stone for the project, it was reported.
Units at the Bateen Al Samar housing project are intended for UAE nationals.
“In implementation of the leadership’s directives, the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme is undertaking several mega housing projects across the emirates, including the emirate of Ras al-Khaimah, to bring about social stability to Emirati families,” said Sheikh Saud bin Saqr following a ground breaking ceremony.
Jameela Al Fandi, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, said the Bateen Al Samar housing project would include 354 residential units on 396,480 square metres of land.
The project, situated off exit 119 on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, is expected to be finished by early 2019, she added.
