Big Project ME Awards 2016 winners announced
Representatives from across the GCC industry attend gala dinner and awards at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel
The 2016 edition of the Big Project Middle East Construction and Sustainability Awards of Excellence was held at the Godolphin Ballroom of Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel on November 22.
Hosting a full-house of attendees from across the construction landscape, including some of the region’s biggest companies, the awards were a rousing celebration of the GCC construction industry.
This year, the awards welcomed HE Hesham Abdulla AlQassim, CEO of wasl Asset Management Group, and Ahmed Abou Hisham, CEO of Egyptian Steel, as honoured guests. Also in attendance were more than 200 guests from across the GCC, with several chairmen, CEOs and managing directors joining the party.

The 14 winners of the awards were chosen by an independent panel of judges, with the categories a reflection of the knowledge and skills available in the GCC construction industry today.
“We’ve have a fantastic turnout this year, and I’m absolutely delighted with how the evening has gone,” said Raz Islam, Publishing Director of CPI Media Group.
“The response from the construction industry has been heartening. Despite the challenging times, we’ve seen once more, the resilience and capabilities of this extraordinary industry.
“Tonight’s awards were a reflection of that resilience, and we’re delighted to see a number of government bodies submit nominations in conjunction with their partners and stakeholders. Long may it continue!”
