Project Qatar 2011 presents some lucrative opportunities

Project Qatar 2011 will provide a platform to tap the most lucrative opportunities,including mega-projects totalling more than US $100 billion

Almost six months since FIFA awarded the first World Cup to a country in the Middle East, interest in the State of Qatar, is already nearing fever pitch.

This month, the first major exhibition since the announcement will take place, with approximately 1700 exhibitors from 36 countries in a 50,000 m2 venue.

Officially launched at a press conference in Doha on April 25, 2011 marks the eighth edition of the show, and organisers IFP Group say it will be the biggest event to date, with a target audience comprising architects, engineers, interior designers, project owners, contractors, manufacturers, planners and distributors.

“The Qatari economy was not only able to show resilience to the global economic downturn, it continued to provide enormous opportunities as the government went ahead with its infrastructure investment plans in line with its National Vision 2030,” says IFP Group project manager Michele Gebreal.

Running alongside the exhibition will be Heavy Max 2011, the international trade exhibition for heavy machinery; an exclusive dedicated ‘green pavilion’ offering eco-solutions and the Qatar Sustainability Conference 2011.

Commenting that the aim is to become a “strategic platform” for both the public and private sector to network, Gebreal, says the event is not only a chance to boost business contacts, but also launch new products and services.
