German subsidiary Passavant Energy & Environment awarded contracts to build plants in Bangalore, New Delhi and Gaza

Passavant Energy & Environment (PE&E), a wholly-owned German subsidiary of Drake & Scull International (DSI), has secured three contracts to build wastewater treatment plants in New Delhi and Bangalore in India as well as Gaza for a combined value of AED246 million ($67m).

PE&E will undertake the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for the plants and additionally assume responsibility for their process design, procurement, installation, commissioning, operations and maintenance, said a statement from DSI. The company will execute the New Delhi and Palestinian projects via joint ventures with Larsen & Toubro and Masoud and Ali Contracting Company respectively.

“The three project awards will enhance our historical technical expertise and vast global experience and improve our market share performance in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia regions,” said Kris Wiume, managing director, PE&E.

“The water and waste water treatment business continues to gather momentum in our key markets and is poised to deliver improved results in the short term.”

Frankfurt-based PE&E specialises in municipal wastewater, sludge, water and industrial wastewater treatment. Facilities designed and installed by the company worldwide are currently treating over a million cubic metres of water and generating more than 600 megawatts of electricity across Europe and the MENASA region, the statement added.
