Aldar Properties, the Abu Dhabi-based property development, investment and management company, has said that its projects are ‘progressing in line with expectation’ in a progress update released on Wednesday.
There is ‘strong momentum’ in the construction of Ansam, the Andalusian style apartment development being built on Yas Island, the company said. Internal blockwork is complete across all buildings, with external blockwork progressing steadily. Interior work is also progressing well, and nearing completion in certain areas, it added, with MEP installations also ongoing.
Meanwhile, at West Yas, infrastructure work is close to completion, with villa construction already underway, Aldar said. Additional community facilities, like a mosque, retail centre and recreation club are due to be completed by the end of 2016.
West Yas Academy, operated by Aldar Academies, has been in operation since the end of August 2016.
Following the successful launch and sales of Yas Acres, tendering for the early works package is underway, with award and mobilisation expected to take place by the end of the year, the developer added in its statement.
The main contractor for the Yas Acres project will be appointed by mid-2017.
Also situated on Yas Island is Mayan, Aldar’s luxury golf course and waterfront apartment project. Enabling works on it are scheduled to commence soon.
The high-end Al Hadeel residential community project on Al Raha Beach has made significant progress, with the full 10-storey building structure now visible, Aldar said.
Following the award of main contract packages over the course of the summer, construction teams have now been mobilised on both Nareel Island and at Al Merief. The planning for community activities and facilities on Nareel Island have commenced, with all work expected to be completed during Q4 2017.
Meanwhile, at Al Merief, all project plans have been submitted for approval for the infrastructure construction that will support the development. All of this is expected to be completed in Q4 2017.
Aldar’s Shams Meera development on Reem Island is the developer’s first mid-market project and is showing strong signs of progress, it said. Part of Shams Abu Dhabi, the project has seen all enabling works completed and handed over, and construction teams for the main contract package have begun work.
Elsewhere within Shams, work on the closed canal is on schedule, with work on the streetscape near conclusion.
For the Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain, expansion work is ongoing, with operations expected to be completed by the end of Q1 2018.
