World’s highest penthouse bridge structure completed in Abu Dhabi

UAE-based Sorouh Real Estate has lifted the fourth and final section of the penthouse bridge for the company’s 65-storey residential development Gate Towers, marking the completion of the world’s highest penthouse bridge structure for a residential development.

The final section of the bridge, which was elevated 245 metres, is now built across all three towers and cantilevered 25 metres beyond the last tower, Sorouh said.

Each of the first two segments weighed 750 metric tonnes and measured nearly 40 metres long and 30 metres wide, while the last two structures weighed a total of 500 metric tonnes.

The penthouses will comprise two stories each, offering living areas, dining rooms, indoor swimming pools, guest rooms, bedrooms, family living rooms, maids’ rooms and kitchenettes.

Located on Shams Abu Dhabi, in al Reem Island, Gate Towers have been designed by Khatib & Alami in the UAE and US-headquartered Arquitectonica.
