The Dubai-based Al Futtaim Engineering has announced that it has won a contract to provide access scaffolding solutions for Emirates Global Aluminium’s (EGA) Al Taweelah Alumina Refinery in Abu Dhabi.
According to a press release, the “multi-million dollar contract” will have the Scaffolding and Access Solutions division of Al Futtaim Engineering work on delivering solutions to install permanent steel structures that rise up to 30 meters from ground level. This will be provided to the main contractor – Bechtel Petrofac Joint Venture.
Additionally, the division will also provide access to install a conveyor belt through suspended scaffolds from the steel structure.
The company has also assured that its project team will follow the European EN12811 standards, and will adhere to EGA’s safety standards and regulations.
The project is scheduled for completion in 2018.
Dawood Bin Ozair, senior managing director at Al-Futtaim Engineering and Technologies, said: “We are extremely pleased to win the access scaffolding contract for the prestigious Al Taweelah Alumina Refinery project. The access solutions recommended by the team will ensure there is no stoppage in work due to the suspended scaffoldings.”
Subramanya Rao, general manager, Scaffolding and Access Solutions division of Al-Futtaim Engineering, said: “Our project team has worked with Petron Emirates in the past where we have recorded more than 138,000 man hours without any LTIs and were awarded for consistently complying with SNC LAVLIN and EGA safety regulations. We are confident our team will continue to provide the highest levels of technical expertise and solutions.”
