Construction accounts for almost half of all work-related injuries in Saudi Arabia, with more than 7,200 incidents in the first quarter of this year, it was reported.
Of the 15,363 injuries reported in the quarter, 47% were in the construction sector, according to an Arab News report quoting Social Insurance Organisation data.
The organisation assesses injury reports across nine economic areas, with commercial activities being second with 3,538, or 23% of all injuries, followed by manufacturing with 2,324.
Finance, insurance, real estate and business service activities registered 961 injuries during the first quarter, according to the Arab News report.
Most work-related injuries were seen in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, it was reported.
