Doha-based Oriental Trading Co. (OTC) has expanded its portfolio of construction-related products with the recent signing of a distribution agreement with Swedish equipment and construction technology firm Husqvarna.

The Qatari heavy equipment dealer and construction and oilfield supplies company will offer its domestic customers Husqvarna’s concrete cutting, demolition and drilling equipment, said a report in The Peninsula daily.

Husqvarna has a range of machinery and tools for the construction and stone industries. It specialises in equipment used to cut rock, concrete and steel with its wide range of blades, cutters, ring saws, chain saws and cut-n-break saws. According to the report, OTC included the Swedish company in the stable of brands it offers because of the cutting capacity of its products and their long life.

Husqvarna Construction designs and builds hand-held cutting equipment and power tools for the metal industry and also petrol power cutters, accessories and cutting blades. Its range of machines also come with various types of power sources, such as petrol, hydraulic, electric and air-driven cutters, which can be used on heavily reinforced concrete.

Husqvarna’s Remote Demolition division also makes robots used in demolition. The power-to-weight ratios of these robots makes them easy to use in a range of demolition sites and allows them to be easily lifted for use on higher levels in a building, OTC said.
