Abu Dhabi’s TDIC awards $100m contract to Al Jaber

Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) says it has awarded a $100 million contract to Al Jaber Building, for the main construction of Jawaher Saadiyat, a residential community in the Saadiyat Beach District.

The contract is for a 24-month mobilisation on site, with Al Jaber Building expected to deliver 83 units of four to six bedroom villas and four bedroom townhouses. The villas’ built-up area ranges from 636sqm to 1,268sqm, while the townhouses have built-up areas ranging from 462sqm to 464sqm. Both villas and townhouses will also include shaded car parks.

The villas have been designed to respect regional requirements for privacy and serviceability, while also including the conveniences of modern life, TDIC said in a statement. They have been designed by DSA, with interiors by Bishop Design.

“We are pleased to announce the awarding of the main contract for Jawaher Saadiyat, the latest residential community at the Saadiyat Beach District, which adds to Saadiyat’s appeal as a destination of choice in the market,” said Ali Majed Al Mansoori, TDIC’s chairman.

“TDIC has already received much interest from investors for Jawaher due to its prime location overlooking the Saadiyat golf course and the sense of exclusivity it offers to residents. We are confident that once completed, it will drive demand for our real estate offerings on Saadiyat even further.”

Jawaher Saadiyat will have a security-controlled gate, landscaped grounds, a multi-use games area, a gym, a children’s outdoor playground, swimming pools, male and female prayer rooms, parking for residents and guests, a café, a restaurant, mini mart, salon and park.

The project will also offer future residents proximity to high-end hospitality, cultural, educational and retail offerings. These include international five-star resorts and leisure facilities within the Saadiyat Beach District such as The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and the Saadiyat Beach Club.

The project also sits within walking distance from Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, and in proximity to the Saadiyat Cultural District, home to Louvre Abu Dhabi, the first museum to open on the island.

“We are proud to be chosen by TDIC to execute this project. Having previously developed more than 7,000 villas in numerous prestigious projects, Al Jaber Building is looking forward to join hands with TDIC to develop yet another great milestone,” said Obaid Khaleefa Al Jaber Al Marri, chairman of Al Jaber Group.
