GAIA Award winners announced

The winners of this year’s GAIA awards have been announced at a ceremony held during The Big 5.

Nuuon Trading LLC won the gold award, with two silver winners Bladeroomgroup, Red Engineering and Carlisle HVAC/Trimac Inc, joining the 13 finalists.

Burj Khalifa and Kingdom Tower architect Adrian Smith joined The Big 5 show director Andy White in presenting the awards.

“The standard of entries increases year-on-year and this year has been no exception – congratulations to all companies who made the winners this year, especially Nuuon Trading,” said Andy White, event director for The Big 5, who described the technology pioneered by the winner’s as “outstanding”.

“As the importance of environmental responsibility continues to increases across the international construction industry, the technologies and innovations that are being put forward for Gaia Award become further advanced and it has been fantastic to see the commitment to the environment from so many companies. The Big 5 provides a showcase to help raise the profile of the winning green solutions, and we know from previous Gaia Winners that the awards can make a real difference to their business,” White added.

The bronze award winners were: Waterpro S.A.; Enolgas Bonomi S.P.A.; Cocomosaic Indonesia; Smart Box Industries Llc.

Finalists included: Dimension-4 Architects; Ecoval Trading Llc; Einwood – Nahar Wpcc Japan; Isotechnic Limited; Jotun Uae Ltd (Llc); Mapei; Mappy Italia Spa; Pittsburgh Corning Middle East; Recticel; Solar Technology Centre Ltd; Technoform Middle East; and Wms Metal Industries.

 

Since their launch in 2008, the awards have grown to become the region’s most popular environmental awards, acknowledging companies who have made a significant contribution towards to sustainability. This is the first year nominations have been open to non-exhibitors from The Big 5.
