Emaar says it has awarded the Arabian Construction Company (ACC) a contract to build a project in its Jeddah Gate community in Saudi Arabia’s western port city.

The construction contract for the ‘Emaar Residences’ development was awarded by Emaar Middle East, a subsidiary of the Dubai Financial Market-listed property giant. The value of the deal was not specified.

Emaar Residences is set to feature three high-rise towers with 283 units, including penthouses, located in close proximity to leisure, recreation and retail facilities within the master-planned Jeddah Gate community. Drilling work for the project started late last year, Emaar said.

“Jeddah Gate, led by its central location, high quality residences and commercial property, and rich array of amenities, has established its credentials as one of the most in-demand developments in the kingdom,” said a spokesperson for Emaar Middle East. “ACC has strong competencies in developing large-scale projects as per schedule and understand the high benchmarks that we have set.”

Emaar Middle East is also constructing Emaar Square, a dedicated commercial precinct in Jeddah Gate, with ACC as the construction contractor. The project is scheduled for handover later this year. Outside Saudi Arabia, Emaar and ACC have projects underway in the UAE and Egypt, Emaar said.

An ACC spokesperson said: “Already working on Emaar Square, we understand the requirements of Emaar Middle East and commit ourselves to developing the new Emaar Residences as per schedule. Emaar Residences will be an exceptional residential community and deliver significant value for customers.”

Emaar Residences overlooks King Abdullah Road and the Emaar Square Plaza, and will offer one- to four-bedroom apartments and penthouses, ranging in size from 70 to 300 sqm. Some units open to panoramic views of King Abdullah Road and the Red Sea. Other features include dedicated drop-off zones for each tower, lobbies, 24-hour reception and concierge and integrated security systems. There is also an outdoor swimming pool for men, children’s day care area with outdoor play area, a multipurpose hall for social events and business requirements, separate fitness centres for men and women with sauna, Jacuzzi, aerobics area, and a ladies spa.

Residents are already moving into the Jeddah Gate project, Emaar said, with homes having been handed over in Abraj Al Hilal 1, while the Abraj Al Hilal 2 residences are nearing completion.

According to Emaar, Jeddah Gate is the first integrated community development in Saudi Arabia offering a live, work, and leisure environment in one destination. Spread over 413,000 sqm, it is located along King Abdullah Road, in close proximity to Jeddah’s central business district, corniche, hospitals, schools and new transportation centre (Metro Al Montalaq). The Al Haramain Express Train, which connects the city with Makkah and Madina, is five minutes away.
